After my first visit to the Reservation last Friday night, I no longer believe Thomas Wolfe was right when he wrote, “we can’t go home again”.  This is odd to say, but on my first visit to the Reservation it felt like I was home in a place I had never been before. You know what made it so?  The people!

Pamplico – Ironically, on the same night Hannah-Pamplico’s Stan Drawdy was honored by the Omar Shriners temple for being on the South Carolina Shrine Bowl coaching staff, new Raiders quarterback Dondegrius Jackson played like he could one day be in the Shrine Bowl.

Frank Owens played in the very first shrine game in 1937.  He is a Charlotte native who after a distinguished High School Career went on to NC State and performed equally well for the Wolfpack. Following a very good college career he returned to Charlotte and because a executive  and Vice President of Sales for Package Products. He did not limit his energies only to work as he was very active in many civic organizations
