Defensive End

Lexington, SC
White Knoll High School

College Career:
Central Florida

03/24/2010

David is currently a fifth-year senior at the University of Central Florida.  He was redshirted his freshman year due to a torn ACL.  He had it repaired 9/7/06 and has played every game since.  He played special teams his RS FR year, and since then he has been the starting strongside DE.

An interesting piece of trivia:

David had a knee injury before his senior year of football.  His high school trainer assumed that it was his LCL.  His leg got better and he accomplished the following:

Top 20 at Nike Combine in Athens, GA  2005
First Place SC Strength Competition 2005          (benching 400, squatting 580 in high school)
Played entire senior year of football
Played 2005 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas

Got to UCF June of 2006 and set some records in the weight room...  The 3rd day of pre-season camp, David's knee started slip   (ping.  After pre-season camp was over, David had an MRI done on his knee.  The MRI showed he had completely severed his ACL back before his senior year in high school!  We just thought it was his LCL, not his ACL!

David now holds the following records for DE's at UCF:

Bench 505
Squat 620
Vertical Jump:  40 inches
Pro Bench:  225 pounds x 35 reps

David will graduate in May with his Criminal Justice Degree, Minor in Coaching; though he will continue on for his last year of collegiate football while taking graduate courses.
